Friday starts with new track record for GT cars; Qualifying day is finished.
Matias Salonen, “Porsche GT3 CUP 992”, 1:17.539 – this is the combo for new track record in Bikernieki race track for GT cars!
Salonen who rightfully earned the pole position was followed by home town hero Valters Zviedris, missing out by 0,3 seconds. Third place to Henri Tuomaala.
BMW 325 CUP with 38 entries were split into two groups. The Group 1 Q was won by Dream 2 Drive pilot Julius Kirsis – 1.34:048, but still the Group 2 had to hit the track. And the crazy French man Leo Messenger held the pressure and set the fastest overall lap time – 1:33.823, leading the group and the whole field. So Julius Kirsis, will line up next to him. Uldis Timaks had a great lap and has his best ever Qualifying lap, taking 3rd spot on the grid, while 4th spot goes to another Dream 2 Drive pilot Aurimas Mistautas. Fifth – championship leader Ricards Subeckis, sixth – Izidorius Paukstys.
BTC3 class pole position among very competitive field the first ever pole was taken by Arturas Kliobavicius, edging Gediminas Bilinskas by 0,2 seconds. BTC2 class Honda battle in the Qualifying was won by Simo Lind, beating Tadas Petukauskas and Antti Jartsev. BTC1 Pole goes to Dovydas Akstinas with Renault Twingo RS.
V1600 1st place goes to Ernests Eglitis, second to Kaspars Rudmiezis and third to Raivis Meilands.
GT class pole goes to “ES Motorsport” pilot Ignas Jomantas with Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO, edging Jyrki Peltola 0,8 seconds. Third place to Tautvydas Rudokas. BGT AM first place in the Qualifying goes to Aivaras Remeika, beating Drew Holland by just 0,074 seconds. Andrius Baublys was fastest in BTC4, Arturs Simins was second, trailing by just 0,055 seconds. TCR class pole goes to Darius Zitlinskas.
