HENRI TUOMAALA BECOMES THE NEW NEZ AND LATVIAN LEGEND CARS CHAMPION

Last weekend Finland Ahvenisto racetrack welcomed North European Zone and Latvian Championship final round for „Legend Car” class members. Unbeaten in  both championships and the new NEZ and Latvian Champion – Finn Henri Tuomaala.

In 37 participant competition the taste of the victory in first race could enjoy NEZ Championship leader Mathias Herten, leaving behind Jesse Vartiainen and Henri Tuomaala. In the second race Mathisas Herten retired and race victory owed Henri Tuomaala. The second place in second race got Johan Ahokas, in the third place was Yliaho Markku.

After three rounds in Riga, Parnu and Ahvenisto NEZ Championship season overall won Henri Tuomaala, who got also Latvian Championship title. The second place in NEZ series for Marko Kilpia, third was Johan Ahokas who earned the second place in Latvian Championship, too. Third place in Latvian Championship celebrated Uldis Timaks, who was the best from six Latvian drivers in the final round – 8th and 7th place in the races.

After retirement in 2nd race NEZ Championship leader Mathias Herten slipped to the 5th place in the overall standings.

Overall in this season in the open Latvian Championship participated 43 racers from 5 countries, in NEZ Championship points earned 24 drivers.

1.      Henri Tuomaala, 660 points
2.      Marko Kilpia, 641 points
3.      Johan Ahokas, 626 points

Latvian Championship season overall:
1.      Henri Tuomaala, 205 points
2.      Johan Ahokas, 195 points
3.      Uldis Timaks, 184 points
