VANKS CLAIMS KUMHO CHALLENGE NATIONAL CLASS VICTORY
After seven seasons in Latvian Touring Car Championship three times Vice-champion Janis Vanks has claimed his first season victory in Kumho Challenge National Class. Wet conditions in Bikernieki racetrack turned out successfully for the experienced National class driver – he won both racing rides in the last event in Riga and got the maximum points to win the Championship.
“Today everything went as we planed and I won both races. Big thanks to my amazing team, family and sponsors. I want to thank to my biggest competitor Garijs Rožkalns who didn’t allow me to relax all season long,” after finish commented Janis Vanks.
“I will be back in the championship in the next season,” promised driver keeping the question open if he will stick with the same car and class.
The second place in the last event took Gatis Drevins and third place – Antons Dolgopolovs.
