“Šiauliai – RD Signs” team takes the Victory of extremely hot BEC 6H event

2nd round of BEC 6H championship did not pass without hot moments not only during qualifying sessions when final starting grid was cleared only on Saturday morning. Exhausting heat has accompanied the six-hour length race during all the time of the competition. Actually it was hot not only in the air, but also in bit boxes before of the repair works as well as in the track itself, where all the battles were in action.
After all technical discrepancies were cleared, all the starting positions on the grid were taken identically to the results of Friday’s qualification. Both, pole position in the qualifying and the 1st place in the race itself were taken by “Šiauliai – RD Signs“ team and their Lamborghini, this time successfully and constantly driving towards the victory. No technical issues have showed up and these Lithuanian guys crossed the finish line being quite upfront from other participating teams.
Behind this team, 2nd place in overall and “GT PRO“ classification, was taken by “Circle K milesPlus Racing Team“ team with “Porsche“. So, at the end of 6 hours battles, the fastest among all were three Lithuanian teams competing with quite different technique – from Lamborghini to VW Golf GTI TCR.
3rd place in “GT PTO” classification was taken by “Flash Racing Latvia“ team with their brand new “Lamborghini“. These guys kept forcing their technique to work properly during all the race, from the 1st moments after the crash at the beginning of the competition. So, they had no chance to show their best performance however, they have showed quite a will, kept fighting till the end and reached the podium.
Technical issues have visited the pit box of “Juta Junior” team, competing in “TCR” classification, even though they have started from the 3rd position in their class. After brakes blocking right after start of the competition, the team has moved to the back of the teams’ list after long additional stop to repair. Bad luck forced to drop out “Capkauskas-Autocentras” team with another Cupra TCR car, as their disc brake disk has exploded.
Up until the finish, “Noker Racing Team” kept fighting to hold the 1st place in their class and the 3rd in overall. Team’s drivers Kęstutis Stasionis, Sten Piirimagi and Marius Slaboševičius showed perfect pace and after fluent work during pit stops, team managed to get the double podium. As for the 2nd and 3rd places, “Sauda by GSR” took the victory away from “ALM Customer Racing”, keeping the 3rd place to themselves, as technical issues did not affect the “LV Racing” will to compete and these guys kept the 2nd place of their classification.
In “GT AM“ class, Freshly made “Bunasta Savesta Consulting” team with BMW M4 has taken the victory away from “Porsche Baltic”.
Victory of “A3000” class was firmly taken by “Intrans Racing by Meatbusters“ team competing with Audi A4 and represented by Tomas Urbonavičius, Henrikas Statkus, Andrius Baubys, Andrejus Teras. 2nd place winner “Baltic Karting Academy” with Renault Clio Cup IV has staid two laps behind the leader. As for the 3rd place, it was taken by “Mažeikių Auto Sporto Klubas” and their Peugeot that was strongly troubled by technical issues. However, their team of mechanics did the perfect job and the drivers Vitalijus Plastininas, Arturs Simins, Egidijus Gelūnas and Vytenis Gulbinas were happy to reach the podium.
“Antėja Racing Team” took the 1st place in “Diesel“ class, leaving “CITUS Racing“ behind. Meanwhile, in “A2000” classification, “Klion Racing Team“ was an autocratic leader.
Next round of Baltic Endurance 6H Championship is going to gather participants in the same, “AudruRing” track on 21-22 of August.
