Nations Cup and team standings introduced in 2021 BaTCC season
For the first time in more than 10 years the Nations Cup and Team standings return to the Baltic Touring Car Championship, offering participating countries to compete against each other and determine the country with best racers. The same applies to the Team standings – the aim for this competition is to unite drivers under one roof, to compete against each other and possibly lower the budget of racing while sharing resources.
Nations Cup
Nations Cup is the competition between participating countries. Participants from BEC 6H, BaTCC and NeA 2h competitions are eligible to gather points for the respective country they hold licences of. BEC 6H and NeA 2h team’s affiliation is according to their season registration information.
Only two best results from each class counts for the respective countries points. If there are two races in one event, for example, sprint racing series, each race counts separately. A special points system will be used for points calculation – if more participants in the class have passed sporting checks in the event, the more points are gathered. See the table below.
The head of the countries ASN Racing commission will be awarded with a cup in the GALA Awards ceremony. Top 3 countries will be awarded.
Team Standings
Team standings is the competition among teams racing only in the Baltic Touring Car Championship. The aim for this championship is to unite racers in clubs and teams that will ensure one other way of competition and by uniting in teams, some resources could be shared, thus the costs may go down.
2-4 racers from any BaTCC sprint racing class can be applied in the team. Special registration form needs to be filled to enter the team in the competition. Each race of each event counts towards the overall standings. While there are 4 racers allowed per team, the 3 best results from each race will count inside the team’s points. The worse result is not counted, if there are 4 racers in the team. The TOP3 teams of the championship will be awarded with cup for the team manager and medals for drivers during the GALA Awards ceremony. The entry fee for Team in the championship is set to be 100 EUR.
