FIRST STEPS IN ENDURANCE RACING – NANKANG ENDURANCE ACADEMY FIRST ROUND IN A MONTH

In the middle of August upcoming “Riga Summer Race” Touring Car festival will be the first round of “Nankang Endurance Academy”. Two-hour endurance race has been created as a start-up platform for endurance racing with the lowest possible costs.

Endurance racing over the last 10 years has experienced significant development both in the world and in local competitions. The organizers of the North European Endurance Championship and the Baltic Touring Car Championship have created a new platform that will allow new racers to test their skills in endurance racing. In the new series, with a little adjusting, members can participate with cars made for other racing series, such as rally, rallycross or drift.

“The current level of Baltic 6H Endurance race has reached a very high level of performance, both in terms of racing technique and participant skills. Therefore, in order to encourage potential participants, we have created this budget opportunity to test strength in the endurance race. We are glad that several teams from all the Baltic countries are already preparing for participation in “Nankang Endurance Academy”, says Andis Meilands, organizer of the Baltic Touring Car Championship. ”

The two-hour race will take place in three classes – A2000, A3000, and A3000+. Each team, which may have one or two pilots, will be required to have five-minute pit stop during which they can change drivers, refuel or do small repairs. All “Nankang Endurance Academy” members need to use Nankang AR1 tire model.

This year the new racing platform is planned to have two rounds – “Riga Summer Race” and at the season grand final in Pärnu on September 21 and 22.

“Riga Summer Race” will take place on August 17-18 at he Bikernieki racetrack, gathering around 150 participants from Poland and Northen Europe.
