ZVAIGZNE MOTORSPORT AIMING FOR THE SEASON PODIUM IN RIGA

Another newcomer to Baltic 4h Endurance Championship this season is “Zvaizgne Motorsport” team from Latvia – one of several Latvian teams in the championship. Surprising many team finished second in it’s debut race in Estonia. The second race in Palanga did not go so smoothly – team withdraw after technical problems. ENEOS 6H race in Riga was more succesfull – third place overall. Before the last event Latvian team is close to the championship podium – 4 points away from the second position owners “Lexus Team LT” and only one point away from the last years champions “Rotoma Racing”.

“We are preparing for the race carefully – going to fight for important overall points in the last event in Riga. Uldis Timaks will be the second team driver in this race. He is very experienced so I guess everything is going to be alright. We participated together in Palanga 1000km race but we had to withdraw because of some technical issues. This time we just need go till the end,” tells team leader Valts Zvaigzne.

“I like the idea of endurance racing. First time I participated in endurance race some years ago in Riga and after that in Palanga. We won the 1600 class in a VW Golf and since than I really like endurance racing. As the 1600 class doesn’t exist anymore I had to figure out something else – so we built this Diesel class BMW and I have to say it is really competitive.”

“Unfortunately there are just few Latvian teams in the Championship. Hopefully it will change in the next season,” hopes Latvian driver.
