MARTYNAS SAMSONAS JOINING SAMSONASRACING.COM TEAM FOR THE LAST EVENT IN RIGA

This seasons newcomers to Baltic 4H Endurance Championship Samsonasracing.com team are the leaders in X1 class driving BMW 328 car. Shortly before the last event of the season we talked with team leader Mindaugas Varža who confirmed that to the final race the team will join his crew driver in rally Martynas Samsonas.

Mindaugas, why such a choice to participate in class X1 with cars which does fit in other classes?
This season we have started with an idea to prepare Ford Focus silhouette car – the same we have raced in Palanga 1000 km race. As it is silhouette-type car, so, of course, we had to be stuck in X1 class. As always happens, we did not manage to finish preparation of that car until the first event and have stayed in X1 class with our standard BMW 328 and we won the first event with it in Estonia. Anyway, we were still hoping to finish Focus till the end of the season though.

Afterwards we became more realistic realizing we are not going to have Focus this season. Than we found this red BMW that was prepared for rally and have made it into circuit car. As a result, we had a quite fast car resulting us staying with it till the end of this year.

Any changes for the last event in Riga?
Before this event we have managed to put spoiler on. Will see if it is going to help us find more fast laps. I have also managed to convince my rally driver to start in this race, too! He is driving during the rally and I am a co-driver, now during the final event we are going together with the same car in a bit different manner. It is going to be fun! Looking forward to final event. Personally, I love this track, all technical turns, corners and humps. Really good track!

In the last event team will be represented by three drivers: Mindaugas Varža, Martynas Samsonas, Mindaugas Liatukas.
