CALKO TAKES THE NEZ LEGEND CARS RIGA EVENT VICTORY
NEZ Legend Car Championship second round in Riga finished with an unexpected victory of Latvian driver Konstantins Calko.
3 Legend Car races full of action was taking part the 2nd NEZ Legend Car round in Riga, Bikernieki racetrack on Sunday July 10. Out of 28 participants first two races the leaders was Finnish drivers Henri Tuomaala and Mathias Herten who took the first two race victories. The winner was decided in the third Legend Car race. A setback suffered Henri Tuomala who left the race after contact fight while second race winner Mathias Herten finished in the 7th place only.
Latvian driver Konstantins Calko showed great performance in the first two races finishing in the 3rd position. In the third race Calko was doing his best and was overtaking World Champion Emil Persson in the penultimate lap. This time the experienced World champion managed to get back the 1st position in the last lap of race 3 and Latvian driver finished second. Finn Marko Kilpia took the 3rd position in the last race of the day.
Crash in the 3rd race experienced other Latvian driver Martins Niedols. He rolled several times but luckily the only damage was caused to the car only.
